Zen Process
Overview

Zen Process is the artistic philosophy of discovery distilled from my own path of experience. The artist on this path does not make an object of art as a goal. The object is a side effect of the experience brought into harmony with art. The definition of art is extended to embrace the overall conceptual understanding of these experiences. The borders between disciplines lose their meaning.

The term Zen as it is used here comes from the comparison of art to Zen archery. I describe the artistic consciousness as the bow, the organizing vision. The disciplines themselves are the arrows.

Introductory Lecture:
The Organizing Vision

  • Balance, Form, Action

  • Cross Pollination

  • Keystone of Perception

Additional lectures address the creative process and applications to specific forms of problem solving using the meta-discipline concepts of Zen Process.

Advanced Lecture:

DYNAMICA

A system of discovery, association and management between persona and deep mind represents the programming between the conscious and sub-conscious. Structural basics of physics are used as visual guides in understanding these relationships.

Presentations as Art

More lectures continue the management of complex systems and disciplines to achieve a synthesis of process. The expression of this as art is realized in the dramatic moment.

A Small Gathering

Reading and commenting on the process of arriving at the expression, with a little music thrown in creates a relaxed atmosphere for interacting with a small group. Sometimes the group prefer that I focus  on  performance and  simply answer questions at the end. Whichever way the mood flows the idea is to keep a sense of the gathering  leaning toward art within the moment.

Concert

I am pleased from time to time to bring my sense of esthetics to a larger stage.
