Giclée Limited Print Edition

Certificate of authentication

The “Limited Edition” offers prints on Archival Quality Paper or Canvas. For investment value each print bares the artist’s signature and the number of the individual print as well as the total number of prints created. In addition a certificate of authenticity signed by the print maker accompanies each print. The Limited Edition is best for the investor, or collector.

What is a signature worth?

The first value of a signature is in authenticating that a work of art is in fact the creation of that artist. This increases the value for resale. The purchaser is always interested in making sure the work they are paying for is genuine. In the art market "Provenance" is the term used to describe the documentation proving the authentic source of a work of art and legitimate ownership. Traditionally the printer is responsible for overseeing and verifying that a limited edition is actually limited to the number of impressions represented. The printers certificate baring his or her signature is also part of the "Provenance." If the artist grows in popularity the investor or collector have the documentation necessary to benefit from the increase in market value.
