The individual paintings in the series I describe as "Print Based Originals." They are originals because they are unlike any other. A print edition differs in that the multiple impressions are identical. A "Unique" is a one of a kind, usually due to a minor alteration. The mixed media print based original is significantly re-worked with the painting process. The other difference is that the print based originals are mixed media. They are a combination of the print and pastel, acrylic, and oil. The mixed media painting brings with it significant work in glazes and solid touch brush work. This modern process brings together contemporary media with the old world brush master.
