These works were created at a later time from photographs I had taken while living on Hydra in 1972. Oddly enough I did not make paintings of these views while there. I did have a working studio and completed many works which included still life, portraits, and depictions of the Hydra starscape The village of Camini where I lived was isolated from the Hydra port. Tourists packed the Hydra port when cruse ships came in, and as quickly disappeared. They never ventured over the mountain to Camini. Ex-patriots formed an international community of residents as well as the Greek population. All were influenced by the Greek traditions and respect for the moment.
