He also created many movies exploring other artists, poets, and singer/songwriters. Some examples may be accessed at Artist Interviews. Portraits of Art "Portraits of Art" series, explors collections of art works. The collection may showcase periods of art or a major group of works. River - American Picasso The "American Picasso" used to describe River's ever-changing art was first used by Lisa Daugherty. An artist and friend, she had the opportunity to see first hand the cycles of the creative process. The cliché of the artist's "Signature Style" was overthrown by the Spanish artist Pablo Picasso. Picasso's changing styles through various periods were widely accepted as a unique example of his artistic genius. Similarly, River's prodigious periods of artistic exploration are compared to Picasso to exemplify River's powerful creative voyage of discovery.
