Collectors Tips

        Home         Tips

Be a collector. Buy something you like from an artist you like. Small and inexpensive art is good. Jean-Michel Basquiat was running around Manhattan selling postcard size drawing and paintings for $10 to $50. The N.Y. Times reported in 2007 their worth was $12,000 apiece. Buy some postcard art and be a smart collector. Have fun.

So what is the best way to finding value in art? Pleasing yourself is not a bad place to start. If you are a seasoned collector, you already have worked most of it out. I hope to offer many creative investment packages for my collecting partners.

RECORD PRICE FOR A PAINTING: "A lost masterpiece by Rubens became the most expensive picture ever sold, when a rare books dealer paid £49.5 million to acquire it for a private collector at a Sotheby's auction in London." 07/12/02 - I am sure there are new records being broken as the financial sector continues their inevitable path to more.
